These items need to be moved and most people say to pile all the items in the center of the room. This is a good idea but it can turn out to be an obstacle when trying to get around the room. If there is space, move the items in a few different piles and that way you have some space to move around. You also need to find some covers for the items that are remaining in the room so they do not get paint on them. If you use a professional they will have covers to protect your furniture.

Fix Drywall Damage Before Applying Paint

This is another step that should be done before you start the painting process. Once you have moved furniture you may realize that there are scuffed or scrape marks where the bed or couch has rubbed on the wall.
