2018 Interior & Exterior Paint Color Trends in Noyack, NY; Sage Green, Violet Purple & More

Every year there are trends or events that will forever be connected with that year.  Some of the memories that stick out are uplifting while others are harder to think about.  For example can you think about 2011 without thinking about the terrible act of terrorism?  Can you think about the 80’s without seeing bright neon colors?  Or what about the 70’s and disco balls?  In 2018 there were some distinct trends in the painting world and L.W. Winslow Painting, Inc. outlines them below.

Best Warm & Cool Grey Paint Colors

Grey has been on the top trending paint colors for the last several years.  Gray is a fun color because it can have many different hues.  A blue grey will give your room a much different look than a purple gray.  Bluish grey colors will give you a cool tone with a tranquil feel.  A purple gray is a warmer tone that is inviting to guests in your home.  There are tons of different options for you if you are considering painting grey anywhere in your home.

Sage Green Paint Color Scheme

Sage made a comeback in 2018!  Interior decorators are using sage in bathrooms to help make them calm and tranquil.  The greyish green color is soft and muted but still brings some interest to your room.

Shades of Marigold Yellow Paint

If you look on Etsy or Pinterest for decorating ideas you are going to be bombarded with all shades of yellow.  Marigold was one of the hottest shades of yellow in 2018.  Marigold brings happiness into any space that you bring it into.

Goldrenrod Paint Color Scheme

Another popular shade of yellow in 2018 was goldenrod.  Goldenrod really brightens up your room and gives it a nice sunshine feel.  A popular color pairing is black and goldenrod.  These colors together make a strong and fun statement in your home.

Violet Purple Wall Paint Colors

Different shades of violet have found their way into homes this year.  Ultra violet was named as Pantone’s color of the year for 2018.  Pantone described ultra violet as a “dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade.”

Black Paint

Black is back in many different forms!  Black has been used in bathrooms and kitchens throughout the country this year.  It can be used boldly all over your house or you can choose to use it as a fun accent in a few different areas.  Using black can give your space a cool facelift.

Blush Pink Paint Color

Blush has been named the millennial pink.  Blush is a peach-salmon mixture that adds a soft muted color to your home.  Many people will pair blush with ivory and gold to keep a nice soft feel to their room.

Stone White Paint Color

With the minimalist movement on the rise more homeowners are choosing to bring white back into their homes.  Stone white has more warmth than a crisp white that helps make it more inviting.  If you like a nice modern feel this is an excellent choice for you.
